The Somatic Yoga Sangha (community) is a living, breathing community of practice. Rooted in Yogic philosophy and informed by somatic wisdom, this 90-minute gathering is an invitation to experience yoga as it was originally intended: a path of integration, awareness, and inner transformation. Whether you are brand new to yoga or an experienced yoga student (or teacher), there's a lot of benefit to gain from this class. In this gentle somatic yoga sangha practice, you'll release tension built up in the body while cultivating the power of the mind. Somatic Yoga can help with: Increasing mobility Creating emotional regulation Improving spine flexibility Decreasing overall tension Quieting the mind Somatic Yoga is different from a regular yoga class. The pace is slower and more connected to embodiment through breath with guidance to assist your internal awareness. Specialized practices that focus on the polyvagal approach of nervous system regulation are used throughout the class, along with somatic based movement for a true therapeutic approach. Sangha means community- a shared field of practice where individual experience is supported, witnessed, and deepened through collective presence. Together, we cultivate a space where nervous system regulation, self-awareness, and inner listening are prioritized, allowing the mind to settle and perception to clarify. In this sangha, we move beyond poses alone. Through mindful movement, somatic-based practices, breath, inquiry, and philosophical reflection, we explore yoga as a practice of embodied consciousness. Each class weaves together ancient yogic teachings with modern somatic understanding, allowing the wisdom of the teachings to be felt, lived, and integrated through the body. Aside from everyone, those with anxiety, depression, (C)PTSD, a history of trauma, ADHD, patterns of dissociation and dysregulation, and anyone looking for a way to get comfortable in their own body again. The Somatic Yoga Sangha is for those who feel called to practice yoga as a path of embodied wisdom, nervous system attunement, and conscious living, held within the steady support of community.
